An Invitation to Thrive – October 2021

Thrive Through Accountability

Every organization needs accountability and feedback, a space to reflect and ask probing questions. Are promises being delivered? Do participants feel valued and involved?

These questions and more are being discussed with a small number of BBT group leaders that have formed our first-ever Group Leader Advisory Council. The members of the council are volunteering their time to ensure BBT is serving current groups well. Some of the topics they will be exploring include

  • creating community around the BBT movement
  • reaching more potential group leaders
  • fundraising for our mission

BBT has been working to equip group leaders and empower their groups for more than ten years, and we’re continually striving to improve.

What questions, comments, and suggestions do you have? Click here and share them with BBT and our Advisory Council in our LinkedIn Forum!

Thrive Through Transitions

Transitions are hard and job loss can be one of the most challenging kinds of transitions. On average, 21.7 million people lose their jobs in the US every year. Despite the commonplace occurrence, it's rare to hear people talk openly about the emotional and mental challenges.

In Episode 9 of the Faith for Work podcast, Dale Kreienkamp shares how he navigated the difficulties of two job losses and then wrote a book to help others through the shame and insecurity he experienced. Dale shares some tips for someone wanting to support a friend or loved one through the experience, and how the message of his book applies to many kinds of transitions.

Have you ever experienced a hard transition? Would you like to learn about supporting a friend?

Listen now to Episode 9 to learn how you can thrive through transitions, and consider using our volume of curriculum, In the Waiting, based on Dale's book!
